nature connection is integral to my capacity to create and my process of art-making, because without nature i wouldn’t exist, but also because the subject of life and living things weaves its magic into everything i create
being HSP and INFP, i have an eternal need to turn inwards….and in nature i feel safe, protected, hidden from view and yet visible to myself…
whether perched on the edge of a beach cliff, or meandering through woodland,
i am fully present with my surroundings, engaging my senses in an endlessly nourishing embrace that is never overstimulating or monotonous
nature is always offering newness and that’s why i create, to begin again
making art that keeps me alive, and heals old wounds
each start is another chance to get it right
whether painting a leaf, feather or forest, long shadows, light flare through the tree canopy or a soft, comforting scene, i seek the seemingly timeless in order to impart something new and fresh and alive, or something forgotten, that awakens an eternal wisdom within the soul
forest walk
trees envelop me in their canopy of leaves
branches whisper wordless stories thousands of years old into my ringing ears
as seeds crunch beneath my feet
softening the harsh clanging of industrial noise
like the whoosh of waves rolling in and out over the sand
or a stream bubbling through rocks and pebbles smoothed by a billion years of water washing and wind
and i unwind
